What do I have to do to become prequalified to work on this project?

Anyone wishing to work on the project in any capacity must be prequalified through the project’s Building Connected platform.
To prequalify as a subcontractor you will submit: 
– Contractor’s License  
– DIR Registration 
– Small/Diverse Business Certificates   
– W9 
– Illness Injury Prevention Plan 
– COVID Plan 
– EMR Letter from your insurance carrier 
– OSHA 300 & 300A Logs – Last 3 years 
– Insurance Certificate  
– Financials needed for contracts over $100K 

To prequalify as a vendor/supplier you will submit: 
– W-9 
– Small/Diverse Business Certificates 
– Business License, if applicable 
– Insurance Certificate 

What is an SBE? Am I an SBE?

An SBE is a Small Business Enterprise.
SBEs wishing to perform work on the project must be certified by the Department of General Services (DGS)

SBE certification criteria is as follows:
– Be independently owned and operated;
– Not dominant in field of operation;
– Principal office located in California;
– Owners (officers if a corporation) domiciled in California; and, including affiliates, be either:
 a. A business with 100 or fewer employees;
 b. An average annual gross receipts of $15 million or less, over the last three tax years;
 c. A manufacturer with 100 or fewer employees; or,
 d. A microbusiness. A small business will automatically be designated as a microbusiness, if gross annual receipts are less than $5 million; or the small business is a manufacturer with 25 or fewer employees.
